SUPER BOL D'OR    page 4

Some developments. I've picked up a second FA to use for my project. Now I'll be able to run the two bikes side-by-side, and not have to worry about making changes that would make it difficult to revert.

Having said that, I've decided to bite the bullet, and go for a mono-shock rear end of a CBR600F2. I have the swingarm and shock - along with some pre-cut brackets for mounting. I just need to determine the best way to adapt it. One method is to cut the pivot tube off and weld a donor 900 unit in, which will give the correct spacing and offset etc.

This isn't mine, but shows the 900/600 conversion

The other method is to replace the smaller 600's bearings with some that will accept the 16 mm pivot bolt, and drill out the spacers from 15 mm to 16mm for the same reason. Then I would need 2 x 3mm spacers for each side to locate it correctly in the frame.

I think this will be the way I go, and I have the bearings already.

Just for giggles, I've mocked it up to this point so far...
